As the world shut down and hospitals prepared for a pandemic, manufacturers like Metro were faced with a new challenge. How could the team at Metro help those on the front lines?
From the beginning, it was evident that there was a need for personal protection equipment (PPE) solutions. As one of the primary providers of healthcare equipment, the Metro team bunkered down to create solutions that could keep our customers safer.
Sanitary PPE Storage
To meet the increasing demand for more mobile solutions for PPE, Metro increased production on its Isolation Carts. As hospitals prepared for a rapid increase in patients and to support temporary treatments areas, carts were needed quickly. Metro’s production increased to not only respond to orders but to also build an inventory level to have carts on hand for new orders coming in.
Economic Alternatives
Due to the pandemic scale, one challenge the team faced was providing customers with affordable solutions on a larger scale. As cases began pouring into hospitals, it became apparent that many facilities had a sudden need for medical equipment that was not necessarily worked into their initial budget.
To help facilities get the isolation carts and other solutions they needed, Metro created more economical alternatives for facilities, including the Super Erecta Isolation cart.
The Super Erecta Isolation cart is a simple solution to hold necessary PPE without sacrificing your budget.
Each cart comes with a stainless work surface and can be purchased at a lower price than traditional isolation carts.
Sanitizer Stands
Another product that emerged from customer needs and feedback during this time was a simple no-touch stand for hand sanitizer. Metro quickly reacted by creating a line of sanitizer stands and workstations that would fill this customer need.
Metro’s line of sanitizer stands was designed to be used with various types of sanitizing bottles, including large pump bottles and motion dispensers.
These stands take up minimal room and can be placed in common areas and hallways without disrupting traffic flow.
Barrier Shields
Another challenge we witnessed at facilities was creating a way to make interactions safer.
We have witnessed many unique barrier solutions from plastic taped to the reception desk to two pieces of wood and some plexiglass.
This lead to the creation of Metro barrier shields. These shields can be transported throughout any facility and provide a protective barrier. Each barrier comes with additional shelves for added storage of items like sanitizer, masks, and gloves.
Each barrier shield comprises a strong Super Erecta frame for maximum stability as it is moved between destinations. Each unit also comes with the ability to add Metro’s polymer panel or a similar panel that matches its dimensions.
Meeting the Challenge
Throughout this process, the Metro family has been fortunate to be in a position to provide what those working in the front lines need to succeed.
This pandemic has been trying on everyone, and the team at Metro continues to do its best to ensure that the solutions are being made to help people do their jobs more efficiently and safely.
