Medical logistics company adds second major DOD contract to rapidly expand portfolio enabling supplies to federal, state, local organizations during critical times

WARWICK, R.I.  -- CME Corp, America's biggest equipment-only distributor of medical products, is proud to announce that the company has signed a $49.5 million Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Department of Defense contract, dramatically increasing the dollar value of its agreements with various government entities.

CME's latest DLA ECAT contract makes thousands of medical products available to a wide range of military services, including the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, as well as the Veterans Administration and Indian Health Services, an operating division of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

DLA's Troop Support's Medical Supply Chain developed ECAT, which is short for Electronic Catalog, to streamline DLA's business practices and procurements. CME also serves other federal, state, and county agencies with other contract vehicles and open market purchases.

The signing of the contract represents a significant step forward and a win for CME in the wake of an agreement inked with the DOD in 2018 for $16.275 million. It's another indicator of the company's rapid expansion.

"We are pleased to announce this landmark contract, which comes at a time when critical medical products are not only needed to fight COVID-19 now but also to prepare for future emergencies," said Bob Charron, government sales manager of CME. "Our team is standing by America during this critical juncture. We continue to be ready at a moment's notice to provide whatever assistance is needed."

CME's DLA contract #SPE2DH20D0046 was awarded by Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support from Philadelphia.

"We are thrilled to be greatly expanding our work with the federal government by securing this vitally important contract with the Department of Defense," said CME President Normand Chevrette. "CME's unrivaled array of products and services ensures that our partnership will benefit all parties during this time of unparalleled need and beyond. As the pandemic continues, we will be here to lend a hand through the DOD to all of our military men and women, to whom we are so grateful."
